Real Desire: Yearlings In High Demand!

Despite having only a few yearlings on offer, Real Desire led all pacing sires at the 2020 Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale with an average of $42,833.

Larry Bond purchased Real Desire’s top seller, a filly from Mystical Victress and half-sister to ISS star Mystical Carrie, for $65,000, while Burke Racing purchased the Real Desire colt from I’m All A Roan, the full brother to millionaire Rockin Ron, for $48,000.

With seven Indiana-sired crops on the racetrack, Real Desire continues to produce at the highest level, and in fact, foals from one of his larger Hoosier crops will begin their 2-year-old seasons in 2021.

From the Abercrombie sire line, he provides a superior pedigree cross to mares by popular Indiana sires Always A Virgin and Rockin Image, as he sired his richest performer, World Champion State Treasurer p,1:47 ($1,908,424), from that very Western Ideal line.

Real Desire is Indiana’s all-time leading money-winning pacing sire, with his performers earning more than $73.5-million to date, and he has sired four millionaires and 39 racehorses with records of 1:50 or faster.

Joining that speed list recently was the Burke Racing, Weaver-Bruscemi, David Wills-owned 3-year-old Sawyer’s Desire, a $250,000-plus winner who captured the 2020 edition of the Circle City at Hoosier Park in 1:49 flat.
