Over the decades, Brittany Farms has been responsible for developing some of the industry’s most dominant yearlings, accomplished broodmares, and influential sires—horses that have gone on to shape the sport at the highest levels.

George Segal and Marvin Katz

George Segal and Marvin Katz are highly successful, longtime business partners and key figures in the North American Standardbred horse racing and breeding industry.

Brittany Farms & Clear Creek at Brittany: George Segal established and owned Brittany Farms, which is one of the most celebrated breeding institutions in harness racing history, with 31 Breeder Crown Champions. Marvin Katz took over operations of the farm in January of 2025, establishing Clear Creek at Brittany.

Championship Bloodlines: Together, they have owned or bred some of the sport's top horses. Many of their horses—such as Captaintreacherous, American History, and Father Patrick—have won prestigious events like the Breeders Crown and the Hambletonian.
