The Brittany Farms-bred sophomore pacer STINGMAN handily won a $10,000 leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes at The Meadowlands on Saturday (May 9) in 1:52.3.

A 3-year-old son of Perfect Sting, he is the first foal from the Captaintreacherous mare Captiva (p,2,1:53). The triumph marked the sixth win for the sophomore pacer, which was just a tick off his lifetime best of 1:52.2f, where he won a leg of the Weiss Series at Pocono.
Trained by Tee Wine for owners Jack Piatt III, Scott Croftcheck and Joseph Seman, STINGMAN returned $2.80 for the 4-1/2 length romp. Driven by Dexter Dunn, his individual last quarter was a snappy :26.4.
Lightly raced at two, the victory boosted the gelding’s lifetime earnings to $47,045.
