37% 2YO stakes winners from yearlings sold!

From the 38 yearlings sold by Brittany Farms or Brittany & Partners last fall—the first crop raised at the new farm—14 are already 2-year-old stakes winners this year… an amazing 37%!

The bottom line is this: If you study analytics—and success ratios—the first place you should look for yearlings this fall is the Brittany Farms consignment to the Lexington Selected Sale, Oct. 2-6 at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion.

The farm’s freshman stakes winners are led by several of the brightest lights on the 2-year-old stage. They include the year’s richest and fastest 2-year-old trotter, Don’t Let’em 2,1:51.4 ($238,117), who won both the elim and the $422,350 final of the Peter Haughton Memorial on Hambletonian Day at the Meadowlands.

Don’t Let’em’s only losses in six trips to the post were a nose defeat to the highly regarded Gerry in the Kindergarten and a break in KYSS action over an off track in Lexington. The son of Muscle Hill-Passageway looms as the one to beat as more Grand Circuit stakes and the Breeders Crown edge ever closer.

Joining Don’t Let’em among the Brittany-bred 2-year-olds is a pair who won more stakes just last weekend, Captain Ahab and Starita.

Captain Ahab p,2,1:51.1 (Captaintreacherous-Acquavella), whose previous scores include the Dream Maker and Kindergarten Series, won the Nassagaweya at Mohawk, while Starita 2,1:55.2 (Trixton-Morningstar) took home the trophy in the Reynolds at Tioga.

Not to be overlooked in this stellar group is speedball Bettor’s Wish p,2,1:51.2 (Bettor’s Delight-Lifetime Star), a two-time OSS-Gold winner and elim winner in the Battle Of Waterloo.

With the 2-year-old stakes season not yet reaching its peak, expect many of these to continue their winning ways… and many new freshmen stakes winners to surface.

Stay tuned… to Brittany Farms!
