Youaremycandygirl wins $381,000 Three Diamonds

American Ideal’s World Champion 2-year-old filly and Dan Patch Champion-in-waiting Youaremycandygirl p,2,1:50 ($895,615) continues to update her ultra-sweet resume with captivating wins.

Last Saturday night at the Meadowlands she captured the $381,200 Three Diamonds in 1:51 flat by 1 1/2 lengths—and this after being pushed to the lead from the 10-hole into a :53.2 half. (Watch Race)

The Ron Burke trainee, owned by Bill Donovan and bred by Seth Rosenfeld’s Birnam Wood Farms, is the year’s richest female pacer of any age, with $895,615, as well as the fastest 2-year-old filly pacer and co-fastest 2-year-old pacer, including both colts and fillies.

The daughter of American Ideal-Sweet Lady Jane (Somebeachsomewhere), a $150,000 Harrisburg yearling, is perhaps an example of the power of American Ideal as a sire when coupled with Somebeachsomewhere on the dam’s side. Considering they rank #1 and #2 among pacing sires gives that credence.

In addition to the rich Three Diamonds, Youyaremycandygirl has also annexed the $600,000 Breeders Crown, $500,000 She’s A Great Lady, International Stallion Stakes, Matron, and three New York Sire Stakes for a grand total of 9 wins in 11 seasonal starts.

She’s certainly one of the very best by a sire whose best includes nine million-dollar winners and a long line of great horses like American Jewel, Heston Blue Chip, He’s Watching and Idyllic.
